Job Description
As Head Chef at Royal98, you will lead our kitchen team to deliver exceptional food quality and presentation while ensuring smooth kitchen operations. You will:
Lead, mentor, and inspire the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive atmosphere
Manage food costs, inventory, and kitchen budgets to maintain profitability without compromising quality
Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations (HACCP)
Collaborate with management to enhance the restaurant's reputation and success
Oversee quality control to maintain consistency in every dish
Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers to source premium ingredients
Handle daily operations such as scheduling, recruitment, and performance development
Work closely with the service team, our Restaurant Manager and the Hotel Management Team to guarantee seamless service and operations
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef, or an accomplished Sous Chef ready to step up
Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques, menu planning, and food cost management
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop your team
Proficient in operating and maintaining kitchen equipment
Deep understanding of Dutch health and safety regulations in food service (HACCP)
Social Hygiene (SVH) and Leermaster diplomas are a plus
Excellent inventory management and quality control skills
Broad knowledge of international cuisines and current food trends
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or other languages is a bonus
