Functieomschrijving

As the Area Manager for Germany, you will play a vital role in driving sales and developing the market for ammonium thio sulfate liquid fertilizer. Your key responsibilities will include:

Sales:

  • Develop and align on sales strategies and country plans with line managers, ensuring adherence to pricing strategies and group rules
  • Lead sales activities in line with the established strategies, leveraging market knowledge to identify and develop unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Nurture the existing distribution network while actively seeking opportunities to expand business volume and margins in the region
  • Collaborate closely with distributors and cooperatives to establish win/win solutions
  • Propose and implement local marketing and promotional initiatives to drive product sales
  • Maintain and update action plans, manage administrative tasks, and capture market and business data as required, reporting to hierarchical managers
  • Conduct demand forecasting and provide input for demand planning
  • Coordinate with the agronomist, who will be hierarchically managed by you, to ensure effective technical support.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Actively engage in relevant industry organizations, cross-functional associations, seminars, conventions, and events to enhance networking opportunities and lead generation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor customers based on quality products, services, and convenience
  • Monitor customer needs and market trends
  • Capture competitor feedback and market evolution to evaluate their impact on the overall sales strategy.

Budget & Reporting:

  • Meet sales and financial objectives
  • Prepare annual budgets for sales and expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions
  • Submit periodic reports through the CRM system and provide specific reports as requested by hierarchical managers.

Functie-eisen

To excel in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • A master's degree in Agronomy or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of five years of sales experience in fertilizers or crop nutrition in the German market, preferably with specialty products
  • Familiarity with distribution and cooperatives, along with a strong negotiation background
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and a solid understanding of economic, legal, and regulatory aspects
  • Knowledge of financial concepts
  • Fluency in both English and German.
