Job Description
Cluster Director of FinanceBottom line? We're looking for a new Cluster Director of Finance comfortable with balancing the books when it comes to managing the needs of owners, auditors and regulatory agencies while also monitoring and improving hotels profitability. In return, we'll put our financial operations and the security of our hotel assets in your expert hands. In this position you are responsible for the finance departments of Crowne Plaza Amsterdam-South and voco The Hague. As Cluster Director of Finance you will be a part of the Strategic Leadership teams, to decide on the strategy of both Crowne Plaza Amsterdam South and voco The Hague.Your day-to-dayEvery day is different, but you'll mostly be:●      Managing and coaching your team to ensure the right person is always on the right task.●      Implementing and maintaining acceptable accounting practices as required by company policy and procedures.●      Setting exceptional accounting practice standards and ensuring financial control procedures remain ethical and legal.●      Managing day-to-day activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members.●      Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance, and recognise good performance. ●      Maximising financial returns through financial analysis, data trends and market information – while budgeting accordingly●      Developing and implementing financial control procedures and systems; maintain records for internal and external audits; ensure compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements. ●      Participating in local recognised professional and industry organisations.●      Managing hotel contracts (example: vendor leases and/or service contracts).●      Enhancing the guest experience through improved payment options, inventory controls and financial dispute resolution●      Creating the annual operating budget for the properties and provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities for department heads.●      Maximizing cash flow performance of the hotels through controls on inventory (avoid excessive supply), credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances.●      Supervising a number of clerical accounting employees●      Educating, training, and motivating finance teams to achieve hotel revenue goals.●      Ensuring staff has the information, market data, tools and equipment to successfully carry out job duties.●      Providing direction to hotel employees on how decision-making impacts profits. ●      Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with key department heads.  What we need from you●      Bachelor's degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Accounting and Finance●      4-8 years' experience in hotel accounting or auditing with at least one year in an Assistant Controller or similar supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience●      Knowledge of accounting management duties e.g., negotiating hotel space and tenant leases, processing payroll, performing asset management duties, providing business projections, displacement analysis, preparing government reports, filing tax returns etc ●      Professional accounting or finance designation or certification preferred●      Must speak local language(s)●      Other languages beneficial What you can expect from usWe give our people everything they need to succeed.
