As a crane operator, you will be responsible for operating gantry cranes to load and unload sea containers onto and from barges in a safe and efficient manner. You will ensure that containers are stacked correctly, carry out maintenance on the machinery and deal with minor breakdowns. You will work in shifts, which requires flexibility and a dynamic approach to work. You will start your working day with a briefing where the schedule and safety procedures are discussed. You will then start operating the crane. You will work closely with terminal staff on the ground, whom you will direct from your vantage point above.
