Job Description
Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is looking for an inspiring and visionary Executive Chef to lead its culinary operations and shape the next chapter of its dining experience.
As Executive Chef, you are responsible for ensuring exceptional quality, creativity, and consistency across all venues. You will lead a talented brigade, drive innovation through seasonal menus, and deliver unforgettable guest experiences in line with the Waldorf Astoria True Service philosophy.
This is a leadership role at the heart of the hotel, where you will not only oversee daily kitchen operations but also play a key role in developing people, elevating standards, and positioning the hotel at the forefront of Amsterdam's luxury dining scene.
Your responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and develop a kitchen team across all venues
- Oversee daily culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards in quality, presentation, and service
- Drive the creation of new menus and seasonal offerings
- Ensure efficient kitchen management including staffing, scheduling, and cost control
- Maintain full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
- Monitor performance, product quality, and operational flow, driving continuous improvement
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Food & Drink on strategy, budgeting, and concept development
- Oversee banqueting and special events, aligning offerings with guest expectations and budgets
Job Requirements
What we are looking for
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or senior culinary leader in a luxury or 5-star environment
- A strong culinary vision with a passion for innovation and high-end gastronomy
- An inspiring leader with the ability to develop and motivate large teams
- Commercially aware, with experience in cost control and budgeting
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality, consistency, and guest experience
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
