As a Functional Application Specialist 3DX – CAD PLM Structures, you become a driving force behind the development and optimization of structural-engineering capabilities within our 3DExperience (3DX) PLM platform. You will be at the heart of digital innovation—exploring new ways to make our engineering workflows smarter, more automated, and ready for the future.
You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and PLM specialists, inspiring colleagues to work in a modern, data-driven environment. With involvement across multiple major shipbuilding projects, you’ll gain an exclusive, behind-the-scenes view of every phase of these impressive engineering programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Translate engineering needs into smart digital solutions, working closely with stakeholders and the PLM Architect to bring innovative ideas to life.
• Build strong partnerships with software suppliers and implementation experts, while supporting CAD/PLM users with structural design challenges.
• Lead testing and validation of new software features, upgrades, and migrations within DTAP environments, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Create engaging, practical 3DX training content and stay ahead of new digital transformation trends.
• Shape future product structures by advising on EBOM/MBOM setups and developing parametric components and libraries.
• Define and maintain geometrical reference frameworks that guide teams toward consistent, high-quality engineering output.
Functie-eisen• A bachelor’s degree in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, or another relevant technical field.
• Hands‑on experience with 3DExperience or any other associative 3D CAD modeling software such as Siemens NX, Tekla, PTC Creo, or SolidWorks. Experience with Cadmatic Hull (Legacy) is a strong advantage.
• Programming skills, ideally in Python, VBA, or Batch scripting, enabling you to automate CAD processes and streamline workflows.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Dutch is a valuable plus.
• Strong professional references, as a security screening is an essential part of our hiring process.
• Permanent EU citizenship and an EU passport, both required due to the defense-related nature of our projects. Please note: candidates with an EU visa, or with dual EU/non‑EU nationality or passports, unfortunately cannot be considered under these project requirements.
