Step into a pivotal leadership role as Interim Senior Director of Media (maternity leave cover), shaping the full-funnel media strategy across EMEA for an international fashion brand headquartered in Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing team, drive strategic alignment, and make a tangible impact on brand growth and commercial performance. About the Role

The company is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Interim Senior Director of Media to lead EMEA media operations during a maternity leave. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for overseeing a full-funnel media strategy, including brand, commercial, and performance campaigns across both digital and traditional channels.

The successful candidate will inherit a well-established team of highly skilled and independent channel specialists. Rather than focusing on day-to-day execution, the role centers on providing strategic direction and cohesion across all media activities. Acting as the key media steward for the region, this individual will ensure that all campaigns are integrated, aligned, and consistently reinforce the company’s premium brand positioning and broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Define & Lead Media Strategy
    Own and drive the EMEA media strategy, ensuring a seamless full-funnel approach across digital and traditional channels that strengthens brand equity while delivering commercial impact.
  • Align Stakeholders & Influence Decisions
    Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to translate business goals into clear media plans, communicate performance insights, and confidently advocate for investment and strategy.
  • Lead & Empower a High-Performing Team
    Provide strategic direction to a team of experienced media specialists, fostering alignment, encouraging collaboration, and enabling teams to perform at their best.
  • Own Budget & Drive Performance
    Manage and optimize a significant regional media budget, ensuring effective allocation, accurate forecasting, and strong ROI in line with the brand’s premium positioning.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 10+ years of senior-level media experience, ideally within premium fashion, luxury, or high-end lifestyle sectors.
  • Strong full-funnel expertise, with a deep understanding of both brand-building and performance marketing.
  • Proven ability to connect media performance and metrics to broader business goals and brand health.
  • A collaborative leadership style, able to guide and align independent experts without micromanaging.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders across complex, matrix organisations.
  • High level of analytical and commercial acumen, including managing large budgets and making data-driven strategic decisions.
