For a leading global fashion company headquartered in Amsterdam, we’re looking for an IT Portfolio & Governance Manager to turn strategy into impact. You’ll lead complex IT portfolios, guide digital transformation, and influence senior leaders in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. The Department and Team - IT

Portfolio management begins with collaborating with IT leaders to align business and technology strategies, then partnering with stakeholders to shape and prioritize portfolios that deliver on those objectives. The Manager works with portfolio owners to guide program and project direction, ensure compliance with IT processes and governance, and monitor execution, financial, and resource performance across portfolios.

This role also drives continuous improvement in processes, governance, and tools, ensuring consistent adoption of PPM practices across IT. Success requires strong communication, analytical skills, and the ability to influence senior cross-functional leaders to plan and execute strategic initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage up to two IT portfolios from definition through ongoing curation.
  • Improve, reinforce, and drive adoption of PPM processes, governance, and tools.
  • Exercise authority within governance to pause unready projects and coach teams toward successful delivery.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure business cases are sound and strategically valuable.
  • Collaborate with IT and business leaders to shape roadmaps and budgets for upcoming fiscal years.
  • Lead portfolio meetings with senior and executive stakeholders, preparing materials, analyses, and follow-ups.
  • Align with Program Managers on status, roadmaps, and escalations across portfolios.
  • Conduct regular portfolio and financial reviews for senior leadership.
  • Foster a high-performing PPM community focused on trust, empowerment, creativity, and courage.

Experience: 

  • Significant background of 5-10 years in developing and managing Portfolio and project management processes, techniques, and tools.
  • Delivery experience – hands-on experience managing large, transformational programs and / or projects.
  • Strong experience influencing key decision makers or senior executives in a large, highly matrixed, cross-functional team setting.
  • Has served as a Portfolio/Program Management leader on large programs and has experience in creating PPM structures regionally and globally.
  • Strong experience in Project Management (Agile PM preferred), Portfolio Management, and large enterprise governance.
  • Experience working in a global environment.

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Formal training in program/project management with demonstrated portfolio management experience.
  • PMP, CSM, SAFe, or portfolio management certifications preferred.

Skills: 

  • Strong enterprise-wide perspective with understanding of business strategy, processes, technology, and governance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; adept at creating and delivering presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Skilled in both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Asana, and JIRA.
