Summary – Scope of the Project The project concerns the development and construction of offshore grid infrastructure in the Belgian part of the North Sea to enable the transmission of renewable energy. Its primary objective is to establish an artificial island serving as an energy hub that connects offshore wind generation to the onshore electricity grid. The island will also facilitate connections with other regions in the North Sea, contributing to the creation of an integrated offshore energy network. The project scope includes: Construction of an artificial island accommodating high-voltage transmission infrastructure (HVAC and HVDC). Installation of offshore 66 kV and 220 kV AC substations on the island. Deployment of six 220 kV AC cable systems linking the island to the mainland. The offshore operations team is seeking a Junior Engineer Marine and Island Coordination to support the coordination and management of all marine and island-related activities across the project packages.

Functie-eisen
Service expectations: The Junior Engineer Marine and Island Coordination: • Reports to the Lead Marine and Island Coordinator; • Will actively participate in daily/ weekly coordination calls • Will support in liaising with the different packages (Island, Cables and Substation) and their contractors to ensure efficient Marine and Island operations; • Will support in performing vessel audit together with MWS and the expert of the relevant package Hard skills and soft skills: • You have at least 2 years of relevant working experience • Experience in the offshore sector is a must • Education: Engineer • Experience in offshore logistics and transport operations • Excellent communication and teamwork skills • Working structured, independent and precise • You are a smooth, proactive communicator and a resourceful accountable team player • A quick learner Languages: • Fluent in English Working hours & workplace: • Full time • Main office in Brussels (Belgium), however site visits of the different contractors and vessel audits to be foreseen
