Vacature omschrijving

Functieomschrijving

Are you working as a Maintenance Technician, Mechatronics Technician, Automotive Technician, Service Technician, Maintenance Mechanic or in another hands-on technical role? Your current job title is less important than your ability to understand, maintain and repair technical equipment.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will join an international maintenance team at one fixed, highly automated logistics site in Utrecht. Together with your colleagues, you help keep approximately 14 kilometres of automated systems running 24/7.

Your work is practical and varied. You perform preventive and corrective maintenance and help resolve mechanical and electrical faults. One moment you may be replacing a bearing or repairing a shaft, the next you are checking a motor, sensor, drive or conveyor system.

The site uses extensive automation, barcode technology, sensors, electric motors and conveyor systems. You do not need to be a PLC specialist. What matters is that you can work with your hands, understand mechanical systems and have a good basic knowledge of electrics.

You work in a shift team of around 6–7 maintenance professionals. Jobs are normally carried out together with one or two colleagues, so you learn from experienced Engineers and Technicians while taking on more responsibility as your knowledge grows.

The working language is English; Dutch is not required.

You work in a 5-shift schedule:

  • 2 morning shifts: 06:00–14:30
  • 2 afternoon shifts: 14:00–22:30
  • 2 night shifts: 22:00–06:30
  • followed by 4 days off

You start directly in your own shift team with structured on-the-job training and access to an extensive internal learning platform.

If you enjoy troubleshooting, repairing equipment and developing yourself into an even stronger all-round maintenance professional, this role offers plenty of room to grow.

Functie-eisen

You are a practical technician who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing equipment and working with both mechanical and electrical components.

  • MBO 2/3 level in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or an equivalent international technical qualification.
  • Practical experience with the maintenance, repair or assembly of machines, vehicles or technical equipment, with both mechanical and electrical components.
  • You are comfortable working with motors, drives, sensors, bearings, shafts and other mechanical or electrical components and enjoy finding the cause of technical faults.
  • Good spoken and written English and sufficient computer skills to document maintenance, repairs and shift handovers. Dutch is not required.
  • You are a team player: safety-conscious, reliable, helpful and open in your communication, and you understand the importance of working professionally at a customer location.
  • You are willing to work the full 5-shift 2-2-2-4 schedule, currently live within reasonable commuting distance of Utrecht (approximately 30 km), have your own transport and already have the unrestricted legal right to work in the Netherlands. Relocation support and Highly Skilled Migrant sponsorship are not available for this position.

You do not need to be an automation or PLC specialist. If you have the right technical foundation and ambition, you can continue developing through internal training and potentially grow towards a Maintenance Engineer position.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

A hands-on technical role in a clean, highly automated environment, with excellent shift benefits and plenty of opportunities to develop your technical career.

  • A base salary of €3,250–€3,650 gross per month, depending on your experience and technical knowledge, plus a 30% shift allowance. This brings your total monthly salary to approximately €4,225–€4,745 gross.
  • A permanent contract from day one, with a two-month probation period, plus 8% holiday allowance.
  • A 5-shift schedule in which you work an average of approximately 35.8 hours per week while being paid for 38 hours, followed by 4 consecutive days off after every 6 shifts.
  • 32 annual leave days, travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre and additional benefits under the Dutch Metal & Engineering collective labour agreement.
  • Extensive on-the-job training, internal and external courses and technical certifications, allowing you to develop your skills in electrics, automation and modern maintenance technology.
  • Clear development opportunities: if you have the ambition and technical potential, you can further develop your electrical knowledge, obtain qualifications such as NEN 3140 and potentially grow into a Maintenance Engineer role.

You will work at one fixed, clean and modern logistics site as part of an international maintenance team where safety, technical development and long-term employment are taken seriously.
