The FSSC, located at the Head Quarters in Breda in the Netherlands, takes care of the transactional accounting activities Accounts Payable and General Ledger for all businesses of NewCold except for those having their own accounting department. These businesses are located around the globe and concern both warehousing and transport. The team of the FSSC is supervised by the Manager FSSC Accounting and currently the team exists of 1 Team Lead General Ledger, 9 financial accountants, 1 Team Lead AP and 4 AP employees in Breda plus 1 AP employee in Italy, 1 accounting supervisor and 2 financial accountants and 3 AP employees in USA (Chicago) and 3 AP employees in India (Bangalore). The FSSC Accounting Team needs to grow and further professionalize to keep up with the growing demand of services as a result of the growth and professionalization of the NewCold Group. The FSSC Accounting Team is responsible for accuracy, completeness and timelines of financial records.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic professional to take on the role of Manager of the FSSC Accounting Team.

About the vacancy:

The Manager FSSC Accounting is responsible for the day-to-day management of the FSSC Accounting Team and the further development and professionalization of the FSSC staff and the services delivered by the FSSC towards the internal customers of the FSSC. The management of the team also requires involvement with staff not located in Breda but in Bangalore (India). The day-to-day management of the employees in Chicago is done in Chicago in close cooperation with the Manager FSSC Accounting.

The Manager FSSC Accounting is a member of the Finance Team in Breda and reports to the VP Corporate Controlling.
The customers of the FSSC Accounting are the local management teams in the various countries (including the Country manager and the Country or Site Controller), the Corporate Controlling Department, Project Control, Treasury, Tax and other internal stakeholders from several departments.

The Manager FSSC Accounting needs to make sure with the FSSC Team that the service level towards the stakeholders is on a continuous high level and that productivity targets and objectives for the team are being met.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Among other things but not limited to the following list, the task and responsibilities of the position are:

  • Organizing and developing the FSSC Accounting in such a way that it can provide the internal customers with services meeting quality requirements and realize scalability of services to keep up with the growth of the company.
  • Setting up accounting services for new businesses, which are mostly developed outside the Netherlands, in compliance with local requirements for accounting, reporting and taxes.
  • Managing the team of FSSC Accounting by creating logical working processes, performing year-end reviews, setting development plans and KPIs for the team and lead and coach the team members to ensure delivery against these performance targets.
  • Critical for the performance of the FSSC Accounting is fast and accurate monthly closing of the books in such a way that monthly financial reporting becomes a swift and 'easy' process.
  • Manage reporting for the Holding in the Netherlands on a monthly basis and monitor monthly closing process for the FSSC team members on a structural basis with proper monitoring tools.
  • Facilitate a smooth process of invoice and purchase orders approval to enable timely payments to suppliers.

Requirements:

  • The role requires flawless English. Other language skills, such as French, Italian, Dutch or German are an asset.
  • An accounting education at higher level is required as well as 6 - 10 years of working experience in dynamic situations in leadership roles.
  • Experience with various accounting principles such as IFRS and experience in working with Excel and ERP systems (NetSuite experience would be an asset).
  • Working experience in an international environment.
  • Proven track record of leading the departmental / performance development, preferably in a shared service environment.
  • Preferably, lives in or very close to Breda. (working from office is required 4 days / week)

He or she is outgoing and pro-active, energetic and is an honest and easy communicator and is open for daily interaction with the team members. Likes to be part of a dynamic Finance Team that is very involved in the business. Enjoys taking the FSSC team to the next level in close collaboration with the team for further development of FSSC and its team members. Is flexible in meeting the applicable deadlines.

Considers it a challenge to get things done accurately and on time and is a strong driver for continuous improvement of the work that the FSSC Accounting team takes care of.

Can be firmly convincing in promoting the importance of the role of accounting as an indispensable part of doing business.
