Mechanical Workshop Technician (deta-vast, 12 maanden)
Role overview
You will be responsible for manufacturing hardware, test setups and Ground Support Equipment, and for carrying out modifications. Work ranges from complex one-off components to small and medium-sized production series. You will report to the Team Leader of Assembly & Integration.
Key responsibilities
- CNC (and conventional) machining operations such as turning and milling
- Perform technical work on existing hardware (modifications) and new hardware in accordance with technical drawings, manuals and material specifications
- Operate and program 3D printers for production of tooling solutions
- Develop alternative solutions for technical challenges, propose improvements and implement them
- Advise on manufacturability and lead times for requested products
- Inspect quality of new and modified products, including use of a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
- Create mechanical assemblies using bonding, welding, soldering, torquing, etc.
- Inspect and sign off on your own work and completed products/procedures
- Coordinate with the workshop coordinator and work preparation team regarding machine planning and workload distribution
- Manage required materials and tooling and maintain general workshop inventory
- Perform maintenance on machines and ensure overall workshop cleanliness

Requirements

Education: MBO degree (preferably LIS)

Experience: 2–4+ years as a Mechanical Workshop Technician in a precision mechanical workshop

Technical skills: Experience with CNC milling and/or turning is an advantage; knowledge of CAD/CAM programming, preferably OneCNC

Languages: Able to communicate effectively in English and Dutch (verbal and written)

Availability: Available 40 hours per week
Eisen:
- This concerns a temporary filling of a regular position at Airbus. Due to legislation the assignment is therefore not suitable for filling on a self-employed basis.
- MBO+ opleiding (or similar if candidate is foreign)
- Sufficient in both Dutch & English language in speech and written
- You are prepared to go on business trips in the future (ranging from a few days to several weeks)
Wensen:
- MBO+ opleiding LIS (Leidse Instrumentmakers school (LIS))
- Multiple years assembly experience with fine mechanical components / industry
- Preferably experience with clean rooms
- Affinity with aerospace sector
- Soft skills, these can be tested during the interview: - can work meticulously and follow procedures, which is very important in space travel
