Employment agency Manpower is looking for a fermentation technician for a company in Wageningen.
In this role, you work closely with scientists and specialists in multidisciplinary teams, combining hands-on laboratory work with analytical thinking and reporting. As a fermentation technician, you will be responsible for:
Conducting fermentations of microbial products such as starter cultures and probiotics
Analyzing final and intermediate products
Supporting the fermentation scientist and executing experimental studies efficiently
Optimizing existing fermentation and downstream processes
Understanding technical issues and their impact on yield and culture viability
Collaborating with teams in fermentation, formulation, freeze-drying, application and analysis
Processing and interpreting experimental data
Writing experimental reports in English
Presenting technical data internally

Functie-eisen
An MBO or BSc (HBO) degree in Life Science, Biochemical Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or a related field
Preferably experience with fermentation of microbial products
Willingness to learn new laboratory techniques
Critical and analytical mindset with a hands-on mentality
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
Proactive, curious and ownership-driven work attitude
Strong communication skills and flexibility in a dynamic environment
Good command of the English language for reporting and communication
Knowledge of the Dutch language is a plus
Availability of 32 to 40 hours per week
