Voor een internationale organisatie binnen de farmaceutische en life sciences-sector zijn wij op zoek naar een Senior Process Engineer. Over de afdeling

Je maakt onderdeel uit van een gespecialiseerd Engineering & Technology team dat verantwoordelijk is voor het ontwerp, de implementatie en de kwalificatie van nieuwe productie-installaties. Binnen deze afdeling werken process engineers, automation engineers, mechanical engineers, commissioning & qualification engineers en projectmanagers intensief samen om grootschalige investeringsprojecten succesvol te realiseren.

In deze functie speel je een sleutelrol binnen een strategisch productieproject waarbij een volledig nieuwe formulatieomgeving wordt gerealiseerd. Je bent de technische specialist voor jouw procesgebied en begeleidt het project vanaf de laatste engineeringsfase tot en met commissioning, kwalificatie en overdracht aan de productieorganisatie.

Als Senior Process Engineer ben je verantwoordelijk voor de technische realisatie van een complexe formulatie-installatie. Je bewaakt de technische kwaliteit van het ontwerp, begeleidt leveranciers, ondersteunt de installatie en commissioning en zorgt ervoor dat de installatie voldoet aan alle geldende GMP-, kwaliteits- en veiligheidseisen.

Je bent de verbindende factor tussen engineering, projectmanagement, leveranciers en de uiteindelijke gebruikers van de installatie en speelt een cruciale rol bij een succesvolle ingebruikname.

Wat ga je doen?

• • Technisch verantwoordelijk zijn voor een complexe farmaceutische formulatie-installatie binnen een grootschalig investeringsproject.
  • Fungeren als technisch expert (SME) voor productieapparatuur en procesinstallaties.
  • Beoordelen, optimaliseren en afronden van engineeringsontwerpen en technische oplossingen.
  • Samenwerken met multidisciplinaire teams, waaronder process-, automation-, mechanical- en commissioning engineers.
  • Coördineren van de technische integratie van installaties binnen de productieomgeving.
  • Intensief samenwerken met productie, kwaliteit, projectmanagement en externe engineeringpartners.
  • Begeleiden van Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) bij leveranciers.
  • Technisch leiding geven tijdens de installatie-, commissioning- en kwalificatiefase.
  • Waarborgen dat ontwerpen voldoen aan GMP-, veiligheids- en hygiënische ontwerpprincipes.
  • Signaleren van technische risico's en aandragen van duurzame oplossingen.
  • Ondersteunen bij de overdracht van installaties naar de operationele organisatie.

Wat breng je mee?

• • Een afgeronde hbo- of wo-opleiding in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, (Bio)Pharmaceutical Engineering of vergelijkbaar.
  • Minimaal vijf jaar ervaring binnen de farmaceutische, biotech-, voedingsmiddelen- of hightechindustrie.
  • Ervaring met complexe investerings- of engineeringprojecten binnen een gereguleerde productieomgeving.
  • Kennis van GMP-richtlijnen en ervaring met hygiënisch ontwerpen van productie-installaties.
  • Ervaring met commissioning, kwalificatie en de implementatie van nieuwe procesinstallaties is een sterke pré.
  • Technisch sterk onderlegd en in staat om complexe engineeringsvraagstukken te overzien.
  • Ervaring met multidisciplinaire projectteams en samenwerking met externe leveranciers.
  • Uitstekende beheersing van de Engelse taal; Nederlands is een pré.
  • Bereidheid om incidenteel internationaal te reizen naar leveranciers en projectlocaties.
  • Bereid om meerdere dagen per week op locatie aanwezig te zijn, waarbij tijdens de uitvoeringsfase een hogere aanwezigheid wordt verwacht.

About the Department

You will become part of a specialized Engineering & Technology team responsible for the design, implementation, and qualification of new manufacturing facilities. Within this department, process engineers, automation engineers, mechanical engineers, commissioning & qualification engineers, and project managers work closely together to successfully deliver large-scale investment projects.

In this role, you will play a key part in a strategic manufacturing project involving the realization of an entirely new formulation facility. You will serve as the technical specialist for your process area and support the project from the final engineering phase through commissioning, qualification, and handover to the production organization.

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical realization of a complex pharmaceutical formulation facility. You will oversee the technical quality of the design, manage suppliers, support installation and commissioning activities, and ensure that the facility complies with all applicable GMP, quality, and safety requirements.

You will act as the key link between engineering, project management, suppliers, and the end users of the installation, playing a critical role in ensuring a successful start-up and operational handover.

What Will You Do?

• • Take technical ownership of a complex pharmaceutical formulation installation within a large-scale capital investment project.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for production equipment and process installations.
  • Review, optimize, and finalize engineering designs and technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including process, automation, mechanical, and commissioning engineers.
  • Coordinate the technical integration of new installations into the manufacturing environment.
  • Work closely with production, quality, project management, and external engineering partners.
  • Lead and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at supplier locations.
  • Provide technical leadership during the installation, commissioning, and qualification phases.
  • Ensure that all designs comply with GMP requirements, safety standards, and hygienic design principles.
  • Identify technical risks and develop sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Support the handover of new installations to the operational organization.

What Do You Bring?

• • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, (Bio)Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, or high-tech manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with complex capital investment or engineering projects in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of GMP guidelines and experience with hygienic process and equipment design.
  • Experience with commissioning, qualification, and the implementation of new process installations is a strong advantage.
  • Strong technical expertise with the ability to oversee and solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams and collaborating with external suppliers.
  • Excellent command of the English language; Dutch is considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion to suppliers and project locations.
  • Availability to work on-site several days per week, with increased on-site presence expected during the execution phase.
