On behalf of The Expatriate Archive Centre (EAC), Octagon is seeking a skilled social media expert to work on a 6 months long project. In this role, you will be assisting in creating, finding, and scheduling content for social media channels. You would conduct your work from the EAC office in the Hague.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Regular meetings with the PR Manager to align on requirements;
- Create engaging and relevant content for various social media platforms, including text posts, images, and videos
- Plan and schedule posts across different social media channels to maintain a consistent online presence;
- Keep an eye on social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions;
- Respond to inquiries and engage with the audience in a timely and professional manner;
- Stay updated on industry trends and social media trends.
- Incorporate relevant and timely content to stay current and appeal to the target audience;
- Foster a sense of community among followers by initiating and participating in conversations;
- Encourage user-generated content and interaction
- Assist in the planning and execution of social media advertising campaigns;
- Maintain a social media content calendar to ensure a well-planned and organized approach to posting.
Requirements:
- Able to volunteer for at least 6 hours per week and for at least 6 months;
- Available to work from the EAC office in the Hague;
- Be an active user of at least one social media platform;
- Knowledge of Buffer is a plus but training can also be provided;
- Fluency in English language;
- A valid working permit for the European Union, whether you work at the EAC office or remotely;
- Ability to work independently and under minimum supervision;
- Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
