About the vacancy
The Solution Design Manager is a central player in managing the collaborative and consultative process of developing innovative warehouse solutions with and for our customers in collaboration with a broad internal team of subject matter experts in different disciplines (Engineering, Construction, Operations, Implementations, Software & IT, Finance, Business Development, etc.).
Being involved with in customer and the internal meetings from the beginning, the SD manager protects customer requirements and warehouse solutions designs are well documented in Customer and Solution Documents, before handoff to Project development and Operational teams for implementation. After handoff the SD manager remains involved as consultant to internal teams and the customer throughput the warehouse lifecycle.
Being part of the Business Development team, The SD a manger works closely with the Business Development Manager. Where the SD manager has a detailed focus on customer requirements, data and the warehouse solution design process, The BD manager's focus is on managing the overall BD process (incl.) solution design, owns the warehouse business case, commercial processes around proposals, contract negotiations and customer relationship management throughout the lifecycle of the warehouse.
Main responsibilities:
- Understanding customer supply chain challenges and related warehouse requirements (via interviews, workshops, RFP documentation)
- Performing data analysis
- Capturing a base line set warehouse requirements based on data analysis and qualitative input
- Leading external and internal solution design processes (incl. workshops, meetings, calls) together with Business Development Managers
- Create Customer and Solution Documents, for handoff to Project development and Operational teams
- Consult during the life cycle of the warehouse solution development, implementation, and operation
- Drive in the solution design process of larger capex investment projects at existing warehouses
- Drive solution design for new scope of activities of customer implementations in existing sites.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in (Industrial) Engineering or Business Administration
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Solution Design (technical & process driven)
- experience in logistics, warehousing and/or supply chain processes
- experience in data analysis / data analytics
- professional English skills
