Your new job and workplace.
As an Intern you make a direct contribution to make sure that our everyday customers are happily using our technical products and services. You don't do that alone, but together with your colleagues from the Retail & Business Services Technology Platform team. You support the Pricing and Sourcing team as a Solution Consultant Intern with translation business requirements to innovative (tech) solutions, where you get to work with:
- The development team, including the Product Owner and Engineering manager
- Business stakeholders
- Other solution consultants
- And other Tech teams
You are part of the development team and you work closely together with our Product Owners, various stakeholders within the retail departments and IT & Business Managers. Together you go for optimized business processes in an “Agile” setting. A challenging role in which you help to fulfill our promise of a fantastic shopping experience.
Although the spot on the horizon is clear at Albert Heijn as a leading Food Tech retailer, the road to get there is challenging. In more detail you will focus on the following:
- You will talk to various stakeholders, in particular headquarter personnel of the departments. This is to clearly formulate the wishes and requirements. What do we want to change, how do we want this and why?
- You analyze the current situation and processes and the intended goal; what do we want to realize/automate in concrete terms and what do we need for this?
- You facilitate meetings between stakeholders and colleagues from the Tech department (architects, POs, developers). With your help you quickly get to the core of the solution.
- You present your findings to Product Owners and architects and advise possible solutions to the team as a real (internal) consultant.
- You guide decision-making regarding the solution. You do this in conversation with developers from your team.
- You validate the end result together with your business stakeholders before the solution is implemented and ensure that the various Tech teams and support parties are well informed about the solution. In addition, you contribute as a full team member to the End-to-End solution.
In this position you work 32-40 hours per week, partly from our head office in Zaandam and partly from home.

Especially if you bring the ability to offer solutions to complex issues and make sure that these solutions are transformed to innovative concepts for (technical) improvement within your Albert Heijn team. Also:
- You are currently studying at HBO/WO university level, preferably in the field of Business Administration, (technical) Business Studies, Engineering and Management, Business Process Management or other studies that focus on (technical) business processes.
- Knowledge of mapping business process into (Tech) concepts.
- You are familiar with, or want to get to know more about Scrum and an Agile way of working.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence is a big plus.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English. Dutch is a plus but definitely not a need.
- If, like us, you combine passion for being the bridge between Tech and Business users with the capability to bring these worlds closer together, that's great!

- Someone who is proactive and like taking the lead.
- A real team player with a curious mind set; you like to get into the details and make sure that they are known and relevant for the solutions that you are providing.
