FunctieomschrijvingAs a Technical Application Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing critical technical applications that support maritime and defense-related engineering and operational activities. Your focus will be on ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of these applications throughout their lifecycle.
The position involves overseeing application configuration, upgrades, integrations, and issue resolution, while ensuring that systems remain stable and aligned with operational requirements. You will work closely with IT specialists, application owners, and external technology partners to maintain a robust and secure application landscape.
Key Responsibilities
· Developing and maintaining secure and scalable application environments.
· Managing technical application operations, including configuration, updates, maintenance, and patch management.
· Monitoring system performance and resolving incidents while identifying and addressing root causes.
· Implementing and maintaining security measures at the application level.
· Managing integrations between applications, infrastructure platforms, identity management systems, and external tools.
· Supporting application-related changes, updates, and incident management processes.
· Contributing to the continuous improvement of application platforms while ensuring compliance with internal standards and documentation requirements.
· Sharing technical knowledge with colleagues to support the development of expertise within the team.
Functie-eisen· An MBO-4 or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a similar technical discipline.
· Approximately 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in application management or a comparable technical role.
· A solid understanding of enterprise application architectures such as client-server, multi-tier, web-based, and SaaS environments.
· Relevant certifications in technologies such as Microsoft, Citrix, 3DX, or Primavera are considered beneficial, while ITIL Foundation certification is an advantage.
· Practical experience with the installation, configuration, and technical operation of enterprise applications.
· Strong problem-solving capabilities across operating systems, middleware, and network connectivity layers.
· Knowledge of security best practices, including system hardening and access control management.
· Experience within the maritime, defense, or engineering sectors is considered a plus.
· Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of Dutch is considered beneficial.
