As a transport employee, you work in the distribution center in Amsterdam. You work between 16 and 30 hours per week. Your shifts are between 9:00 AM and 3:00 AM. If you travel by public transport, you work until 11:00 PM. You start in the expedition area, placing orders on the right pallet, securing them, and preparing everything for transport. This is physical work: you walk, lift, and bend a lot.
Your day consists of different tasks. You start by collecting orders and preparing pallets. In the afternoon, you set up the routes and help load trucks. If you perform well, you can earn certificates and move up to transporting pallets with a truck or working in the cooled storage area. You always make sure everything is correct and that drivers leave with complete orders. You can also start as a sorting team member, where you and your team make sure all pallets end up in the right place.
