Do you enjoy building, programming and improving custom technical equipments?
We are looking for a hands-on Electronic Engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of electronics, software and practical engineering. In this role, you will design, assemble, program and maintain custom-built measurement systems that are used in demanding real-world applications.
Most of your work takes place in-house in Utrecht, in a well-equipped office and workshop environment. Occasionally, you will visit clients across the Netherlands to install or service systems you helped create yourself.
The role
As an Electronic engineer, you are involved throughout the full lifecycle of our systems: from concept and design to assembly, programming, testing, improvement and maintenance.
You work closely with a small engineering team and have real influence on technical decisions, product improvements and future developments.
What you will do
Engineering & Development
- Design and build custom measurement systems in-house
- Assemble and integrate sensors, dataloggers and electronic components
- Program controllers and embedded systems (e.g. Arduino or similar platforms)
- Design, test and improve electronic circuits and PCB layouts
- Integrate equipment from various international brands and suppliers
- Continuously improve and optimize existing systems
- Perform maintenance, testing and troubleshooting
- Create clear and structured technical documentation
Installation & Support
- Occasionally visit client sites within the Netherlands
- Install, configure and commission systems you helped build
- Provide technical support during and after installation
What we are looking for
- An engineer who enjoys hands-on work and building real systems and equipments
- Strong sense of quality, reliability and responsibility
- Curious, inventive and eager to improve existing technology
- Able to work independently and collaborate within a small team
- Comfortable explaining technical solutions clearly
Requirements
- Completed MBO-4 or HBO education in Electrical Engineering / Electronics
- Experience with sensors, measurement equipment and electronics
- Programming experience (Arduino or similar embedded platforms)
- Affinity with custom-built and off-grid systems
- Good command of English (Dutch is a plus)
- Driving license B
