As a Financial Accountant at DHL in Maastricht, you will join a growing international finance team and play a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations. You will be responsible for preparing and reporting monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and DHL's internal policies.

This is a full-time position (38 hours per week), working Monday through Friday in day shifts. Your workday starts between 08:00 and 09:00 and ends between 16:00 and 17:00, providing a structured work schedule and a healthy work-life balance.

In this role, you will prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, manage general ledger accounts within the ERP system, and process accruals and provisions. You will execute month-end closing activities according to established timelines and support local finance teams and external auditors with financial information and documentation. In addition, you will identify recurring financial issues, contribute to effective solutions, and participate in process improvement and quality enhancement initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts;
• Manage general ledger accounts within the ERP system;
• Prepare and process accruals and provisions;
• Execute month-end closing activities according to established timelines;
• Support local finance teams and external auditors with financial information and documentation;
• Identify financial discrepancies and recurring issues and contribute to effective solutions;

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Economics, Accounting, or a related field;
• 1-2 years of experience in General Ledger Accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R), or Financial Accounting;
• Solid understanding of IFRS standards and financial reporting processes;
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems;
• Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken;
• Accurate, analytical, and detail-oriented approach to work;
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, auditors, and stakeholders across different countries;

• Fixed salary of €3,229 gross per month, based on a 38-hour workweek;

• Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer, up to €18 per day;
