We are seeking a skilled FPGA Designer to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in developing new VHDL firmware designs and adapting existing ones to interface with our machinery. Your responsibilities will include specifying and documenting requirements, implementing and simulating VHDL code, and conducting rigorous testing both in controlled environments and within machine modules.

As an integral part of the Electronics group, you will be the primary contact for inquiries related to FPGA design. You will work closely with electronics architects and designers across various disciplines, including software, electronics, mechatronics, and mechanics, within the framework of projects. This position reports to the Electronics Group Leader.

Functie-eisen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in VHDL for FPGA design, encompassing VHDL RTL, synthesis, compilation, and timing closure
• Proficient in FPGA design flow, including familiarity with tools like Altera Quartus and Xilinx ISE, and skilled in functional & gate level simulation using Mentor Modelsim and/or Questa Sim
• Skilled in utilizing FPGA debugging tools, such as ILA ChipScope and Signaltap, and comfortable with lab equipment
• Strong inclination to engage and communicate effectively with hardware and software engineers on a technical level
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with strong analytical, pragmatic, creative, and proactive traits
• Excellent communication skills in both English and preferably Dutch
• Drive for continuous personal growth within the technology domain
• Exceptional time management and prioritization abilities
• Affinity with mechatronics and control systems considered a valuable asset
