FunctieomschrijvingThe department Base Engine is responsible for the hardware development of new engines and maintaining the in-production products.
Base Engine is responsible for Rotation Parts inside the base engine, like the Cranktrain system/component incl. Piston/Liner, the gear train, camshaft, oil pump but also seals, gasket, bolts and the exhaust manifold.
As the Mechanical Expert in this role, your duties will include:
- Coordinating the development of new designs or enhancements to existing ones in collaboration with internal stakeholders across various departments and external suppliers.
- Leading Simultaneous Engineering (SE) teams.
- Translating project objectives into product requirements and collaborating closely with suppliers to develop the design.
- Managing all necessary Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) deliverables throughout the project.
- Implementing problem resolution strategies following the DMAIC principle.
- Initiating, coordinating, and monitoring validation plans and releases in alignment with project milestones.
- Ensuring that components meet requirements with a focus on functionality, reliability, quality, robustness, and manufacturability.
- Analyzing results and making detailed technical proposals, including presentations to management.
- As the Mechanical Expert, you will report to the Supervisor of the respective group.
Functie-eisen- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical/hardware roles within a product development setting.
- Experience in havy duty engines for trucks
- Strong communication skills with excellent presentation abilities.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in problem-solving techniques.
- Fluency in English is required, with a willingness to learn Dutch.
- Automotive knowledge is advantageous.
